Hello! My name is Art Brighton, and
I am the President of Monaco International for
2006/2007. I was elected at the Monaco
International pre-rally in Lancaster, CA. I am
honored that you selected me as your president, and
look forward to an exciting and successful year.
Thanks to my careers in Law Enforcement and the
Military, I have a wealth of organizational skills
and administrative experience that will serve me
well in my new position. I sincerely believe that
one of my important responsibilities as president
is to bring value to the next two rallies. To that
end, I will strive to offer quality rallies at a
reasonable price. In this article, I would like to
discuss a primary duty of the Monaco International
President.
The President is responsible for the
two Monaco International pre-rallies during his one
year term. Naturally, this is a big responsibility;
but fortunately, I have had several years to work on
developing the rallies. Normally, an officer starts
as Second Vice-President; then progresses to First
Vice-President, before becoming President. For the
past two years, I have visited locations where we
might have a rally. The location of a Monaco
International pre-rally is based on the location of
the FMCA rally. Once FMCA announces the location of
their rally, we set out to find a suitable location
in close proximity (both in dates and location).
I am truly excited about the location
of the next rally. The Monaco 600, is at the
Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, NC, from
August 8th through August 11th,
2006. Marty and Cathy Kimball have graciously
consented to serve as Rally Masters for this rally.
Thanks to their experience and attention to detail,
this rally is guaranteed to be entertaining and
enjoyable. For more information, visit Marty and
Cathy’s web site at
www.Monaco600Rally.com.
After Greensboro, the next rally is
in Macon, GA at the Coliseum Centreplex. The dates
are March 14th through March 17th,
2007. This spring and summer we are working on the
rally details, so look for more information in
future articles.
At this writing, Ellen and I are on
the west coast. Later this year, we will meander
toward the rally sites on the east coast to work on
fine-tuning both rallies. (Personal note:
meander is a Monaco term for an enjoyable,
casual, trouble-free trip across the country. Stay
tuned for results!)
One final note. When I first took
this job, I had an opportunity to present my plans
to the members at the General Meeting. At that
time, I mentioned the importance of my wife –
Ellen. We are entering this Presidency as a team,
which means Monaco International has the benefit of
two people devoted to the rallies’ success. The
secret to our success is team-work. Thanks Ellen!
We will see you soon. Please find
time to say hello.
